University of Southampton - Jubilee Sports Centre

Cliftons Projects have been appointed by the University of Southampton to act as Client Representative for the part new build extension and part refurbishment of the University's existing Jubilee Sports Centre on their Highfield campus.

Once completed the project will bring the existing Sports Hall up to Sports England standard and will deliver a range of team sports to club standard. There will be five main areas of use:

Sports including basketball, netball, Badminton, five-a-side football, five-a-side hockey, volleyball, table tennis and fencing
Fitness training for a range of sports
Trampolining
New changing rooms & showers
New catering facilities

The project is currently on site with drainage modifications underway and a new rainwater attenuation tank being installed. RIBA 4 is now complete and negotiations are concluded with the contractor with an agreed Target Cost. The main works have commenced and the project is due to complete in Q2 2024.

The project has been procured through SCAPE framework under a Design & Build form of contract with an overall project value of £34m
