Professor Mark E Smith, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Southampton, topped out the Jubilee Sports Hall extension last week. Virtually 12 months to the day from the ground breaking ceremony, Wates have made fantastic progress with 8 months before project completion.

The First Solar Tree now installed at Promega
The first solar tree was fully installed over the weekend with the trunk and canopy complete. All 12 trunks are installed, with just the square canopies to be complete. The glass solar panels are expected imminently.
University of Southampton - Old Terrace refurbishment completes on time for the new semester
Commenced in January 2023 this total refurbishment of 100 bedrooms, 10 kitchens & 20 wet rooms valued at £3m was completed in time for the new semester for the University of Southampton.

Our LRC project commenced at the beginning of August. Ascia have commenced on the initial soft strip before the extension and fit out commences under a D & B form of contract. Phase 1 is due for completion in mid September. We are acting as Project Managers, Employers Agent and Cost Consultants advising the college.

Ground Breaking at Promega
The symbolic ground breaking ceremony took place at Promega's UK headquarters in the Chilworth Science Park, Southampton on the 6th June for the installation of their 12 solar canopies (trees) in the car park opposite their office. Using the ceremonial spade, Promega's board directors Derek McCall, Sean Donnelly & Deborah Bell took turns in breaking ground to official mark the commencement of this existing project.

On Monday this week we reached the milestone of Practical Completion on the fit out of the offices for a luxury car manufacturer in Goodwood. The project was completed on programme and within budget for a very happy client who have now fully occupied this newly refurbished office.
